2008 - 2016

Thanks to the completion of 3 phases of refurbishment since 2008, the Assembly Rooms can now provide an exceptionally desirable venue for a wide rage of events. The rooms offer a large, open plan flexible space, with a stunning internal glass slide back partition wall between  the main hall and the stylish recreation room / cafe-bar area, which leads on to an enclosed pretty walled garden terrace, to the rear. There is also a new fully equipped 'hire-by-the hour' office / meeting room with garden access through French doors.

The new toilets comprise a disabled loo and a walk in wet room shower plus baby changing station.

AMENITIES: Computer access with free Wi-Fi and free international telephone calls. Twice weekly café offering local produce for sale, as well as delicious handmade French bread & patisserie.

WEEKLY COMMUNITY OUTREACH SERVICES: (Tuesday & Thursday afternoons) Citizens Advice Bureau; Village Agent; Mobile Hairdresser and Seamstress Service.

FROM THIS... (2008  Pre-phase 1 renovation)

After winning a Defra grant of £94,000 from the South West Rural Enterprise Scheme and securing a £96,000 loan from the Charity Bank, renovation of the main village hall finally began on 21st April 2008. The main hall was re-built during 2008 and re-opened in January 2009.

TO THIS... (2011 / 2012 ~ Pre phase 3 renovation of Recreation Room)

There was a further phase of refurbishment in 2011 & 2012 as further funds were raised and grants secured from Biffaward, the FODDC LAG 'Rural Development Programme for England' fund, the Summerfield Charitable Trust, Magnox North and the £6,000 from the Parish Council.

2013: THE NEW LIGHT, WARM & AIRY INTERIOR...

St. Briavels Assembly Rooms are run by unpaid volunteers from within the community. Would you like to get involved? From just the occasional few hours in the café, to helping at larger events. All assistance is appreciated to run YOUR rooms.

THANK YOU!
A great big thank you to all of you who have helped do their bit towards our community owned facility! Apart from a small army of volunteers, we have had donations of paint, equipment & cash, cakes. A number of fund raisers have also been held, such as Art & Craft Fairs, guided walks with lunch, fabulous choir concerts, a lady's pamper night, and regular Quiz Nights!  It all helps.

If you are interested in joining the committee or can lend a hand in some way, or for more information, please email: Trustees@st-Briavels.com.

BECAUSE TOGETHER WE MAKE THINGS HAPPEN!

MANY, MANY THANKS TO ALL OUR FUNDERS!

AN APPEAL

TO PARISHIONERS OF HEWELSFIELD & ST. BRIAVELS

Are you aware that St. Briavels Assembly Rooms belongs to YOU?
They are currently funded and run as a charity by local volunteers - but your help is needed too, in order to commence the final phase of refurbishment which will include the Reading Room.
All you need to do is -
'ADOPT A FUND RAISER'
Just 1 EVENT - Just 1 DAY

Just decide on something you enjoy doing with friends - such as lunches, gourmet suppers, coffee mornings, jumble sales, barbeques ~ and hold one in aid of your Assembly Rooms. It's a great & rewarding way to make a contribution back into our community.

NO? Heart willing, but no time / energy / inclination? Would you rather maybe make a donation of some kind instead? Well you can donate here :)

THANKS FOR DONATIONS AND SUPPORT FROM:
